Hogan Divergent 2023 is a masterfully crafted red blend from South Africa's Cape Coast, produced by the esteemed winemaker Jocelyn Hogan Wilson.This vintage harmoniously combines 38% Carignan, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 24% Cinsaut, resulting in a wine that is both expressive and refined.
Vineyard and Vinification Details:
Carignan: Sourced from 19-year-old, unirrigated bush vines in Wellington, harvested on 14 February.
Cinsaut: Obtained from 47-year-old, unirrigated bush vines in the Helderberg region, picked on 27 February.
Cabernet Sauvignon: Harvested on 27 February from young bush vines in the Helderberg area.
Each varietal underwent natural fermentation, with the Cinsaut incorporating 30% whole bunches.Post-fermentation, the wines were pressed and matured separately in 225L barrels.The final blend was assembled in October and bottled in December 2023, after spending nine months in barrel.
Tasting Notes:
The wine presents a captivating bouquet of cranberry and cassis, complemented by notes of rose, fynbos, and fresh herbs.On the palate, it offers a dense core of fruit balanced by refreshing acidity, with fine, mouth-coating tannins.This blend draws inspiration from the renowned Lebanese winery Chateau Musar, showcasing a similar elegance and complexity.

While we strive for timely deliveries, there are occasional instances where delays may occur. These are rare but can happen due to unforeseen circumstances.
Delivery Rates:
