Champagne
Champagne, the classic sparkling wine named after the site of its origin and exclusive production, the traditional region of Champagne in northeastern France, 80 miles from of Paris. The first sparkling version of what we call champagne today, was produced by Dom Pérignon in 1693. The grapes that are generally used to produce champagne are primarily Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes.
