The purest expression of the Philipponnat style, perfect balance of intensity, freshness and minerality-  the best kept secret in Champagne!

Colour: Deep gold in colour with amber glints. Delicate froth, lively and lingering.

Nose: The first nose reveals vine blossom, linden and fresh, lightly toasted bread. After breathing, aromas of summer berries, citrus fruit and honey develop.

Palate: Fine vinous attack on the palate, fruity (redcurrant, raspberry, ripe grape) and fullbodied, generous and long. Light notes of biscuit and freshly baked bread on the finish.

Food pairing: As an aperitif, served chilled but not ice-cold (8°C). Enhances hot or cold white meats, poultry and premium charcuterie. An ideal complement to cold buffets, fish and seafood.

Based in Mareuil sur Ay, in Montagne de Reims, Philipponnat holds a long history tracing back to 1522, and at some stage supplied the King of France Louis XIV.

Their approach is based on their exceptional Terroir, enabling them great maturity to deliver flavourful, powerful and well-balanced Champagne. The house is one of the most prestigious ones, ranked as #18 most admired brand by Drinks Business Magazine in 2019. To many, the house remains one of the best kept secret in Champagne!

The name of Royal Réserve goes back to the ancestors of the Philipponnat family, vineyard owners, wine-merchants and winemakers, suppliers to Louis XIV, magistrates and Royal Mayors of Ay. The essential characteristics of the Mareuil sur-Ay terroir, where mainly Pinot Noir grapes are grown, are predominant in this cuvée. It offers a superb balance between structure, vinosity and a long finish.

All orders are shipped from our central warehouse located in Montague Gardens, Western Cape. Local orders are usually delivered in 0-2 working days. Orders outside of Cape Town but within SA are generally delivered within 2-5 working days. If you require expedited shipping, please feel free to contact us for a quote on Overnight Delivery, which typically takes 1-3 working days, depending on your area.

While we strive for timely deliveries, there are occasional instances where delays may occur. These are rare but can happen due to unforeseen circumstances.

Delivery Rates:

At checkout, you will be presented with shipping options and corresponding rates. These rates are provided directly by our courier partners and are displayed as is. On rare occasions, a courier may generate an incorrect delivery rate due to issues with the address recognition. In such cases, we will arrange for an alternative courier to ship your order at a similar rate to the original cost.

We believe in offering transparency in our delivery fees and, as such, do not include any delivery costs in our product pricing. We do not profit from delivery fees.

Third-Party Couriers:

For the majority of our orders, we rely on third-party courier services for delivery. Regular notifications will be sent and on the day of delivery the couriers will notify you via sms, call or email . If the courier is unable to reach you, we will get in touch with you to arrange an alternative solution.
