Germana Cachaça (“ka-shah-sa”) was founded by Sergio Caetano in 1912 and is still produced and aged at the original farm. Produced from hand cut and pressed sugarcane juice which is naturally fermented and distilled in a copper pot still, heated by direct fire.
The cachaça rests for at least one year in stainless steel tanks before it is aged for one year in 240 litre French oak casks and then for another year in 2000 litre Brazilian balsam wood casks. The covering of the bottle is made from dried banana leaf which is collected after the bananas have been harvested.
On the nose you’ll smell fruity hints of banana, harmonised by the two wood types. On the palate you’ll notice notes of sugar cane, dry corn, black pepper, banana, with a hint of freshly dug up potatoes, black pepper encased in notes of wood. Germana has a long lasting and pleasant finish.

Orders outside of Cape Town but within SA are generally delivered within 2-5 working days. While we strive for timely deliveries, there are occasional instances where delays may occur. These are rare but can happen due to unforeseen circumstances.
Delivery Rates:
At checkout, you will be presented with shipping options and corresponding rates. These rates are provided directly by our courier partners and are displayed as is. On rare occasions, a courier may generate an incorrect delivery rate due to issues with the address recognition. In such cases, we will arrange for an alternative courier to ship your order at a similar rate to the original cost.
We believe in offering transparency in our delivery fees and, as such, do not include any delivery costs in our product pricing. We do not profit from delivery fees.
Third-Party Couriers:
For the majority of our orders, we rely on third-party courier services for delivery. Regular notifications will be sent and on the day of delivery the couriers will notify you via sms, call or email . If the courier is unable to reach you, we will get in touch with you to arrange an alternative solution.
