Bruichladdich Octomore 13.4 is a powerful exploration of Islay terroir and one of the most heavily peated whiskies ever produced. Distilled in 2016 from the 2015 harvest of 100% Scottish-grown Concerto barley, this expression demonstrates how intense peat can coexist with remarkable elegance and complexity.
Matured for five years in a combination of first-fill ex-American whiskey casks and 300-litre American virgin oak casks, Octomore 13.4 develops exceptional depth while allowing the character of the barley and Islay provenance to shine. The virgin oak contributes layers of vanilla, toasted coconut, and spice, while the ex-whiskey casks add sweetness and balance to the immense peat influence.
With a staggering 137.3 PPM phenol level and bottled at a natural strength of 61.6% ABV, Octomore 13.4 delivers a bold yet surprisingly refined drinking experience that continues to redefine perceptions of heavily peated whisky.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Intense peat smoke, sea spray, toasted oak, vanilla bean, honeycomb, citrus zest, and roasted malt with hints of coconut and sweet spice.
Palate: Rich and oily, revealing layers of smoky malt, vanilla custard, caramel, toasted coconut, black pepper, citrus, and earthy peat. The powerful smoke is beautifully balanced by sweetness and oak complexity.
Finish: Exceptionally long and warming, with lingering campfire smoke, maritime salinity, vanilla oak, and warming spice.

All orders are delivered from our central warehouse located in Montague Gardens, Western Cape. Local orders are usually delivered in 0-2 working days. Orders outside of Cape Town but within SA are generally delivered within 2-5 working days. If you require expedited delivery, we now offer an Express delivery service, which typically takes 1-3 working days, depending on your area.
While we strive for timely deliveries, there are occasional instances where delays may occur. These are rare but can happen due to unforeseen circumstances.
Delivery Rates:
At checkout, you will be presented with delivery options and corresponding rates. These rates are provided directly by our courier partners and are displayed as is. On rare occasions, a courier may generate an incorrect delivery rate due to issues with the address recognition. In such cases, we will arrange for an alternative courier to deliver your order at a similar rate to the original cost.
We believe in offering transparency in our delivery fees and, as such, do not include any delivery costs in our product pricing. We do not profit from delivery fees.
Third-Party Couriers:
For the majority of our orders, we rely on third-party courier services for delivery. Regular notifications will be sent and on the day of delivery the couriers will notify you via sms, call or email . If the courier is unable to reach you, we will get in touch with you to arrange an alternative solution.
