At that time, the people drank beer more often because of the unsanitary condition of the available drinking water.
Belgium's wide range of flavours, brands, brewing processes and ingredients is one of the main reasons why Belgian beers remain so popular amongst consumers. Since the time of the first Trappist and Abbey beers, the country has had a solid heritage to build upon!
