World Gin Day 2021 - Mothercity Liquor

World Gin Day 2021

World Gin Day is celebrated on the second Saturday in June. This year it’s celebrated on 12 June.

The purpose of Gin Day is very simple: get together with a few friends and celebrate the dynamic juniper forward spirit that is gin! We are truly spoilt for choice when it comes to good quality gin in South Africa. There are some really great gins brought to us from the bigger players and distributors in the market, however the real hidden gems are the craft distilleries. Small batch/craft gins are made from the weirdest, most wonderful ingredients delivering some out of this world flavours. Check out our gin category on our website to see exactly what we’re talking about.

This year we have teamed up with Whitley Neill to celebrate World Gin Day. The brand has a range of 8 locally produced gins that pay homage to the heritage of South Africa. You are bound to find a flavour that suits you because Whitley Neill literally has it all! Internationally, Whitley Neill is known to be pioneers of flavours and they show this through their local range with flavours of: Protea & Hibuscus, Aloe & Cucumber and Lemongrass & Ginger. Not forgetting their fruiter flavours – perfect as a sipping gin, a simple g&t or even as part of a cocktail: Blood Orange, Blackberry and Raspberry.

This week we are sharing cocktail recipes to try out using Whitley Neill Gin variants on our social media accounts, check it out and let us know in the comments which one you’re trying.
