1792 Small Batch Bourbon - Beer & Whisky Pairing

The Pairings:

• Tropical Parade New American IPA and 1792 Small Batch Bourbon:

Tropical Parade IPA has vibrant tropical fruit flavors (pineapple, mango, citrus) from the hops.1792 Small Batch Bourbon has vanilla, caramel, oak, and baking spice, which complement the juicy sweetness of the beer.

We do however, find the the hop bitterness in the IPA cuts through the bourbon’s caramel richness, preventing it from feeling too heavy. If you enjoy a contrast in your pairing you will find some joy in this.

The bourbon’s oak spice and vanilla round out the hop bitterness, making the IPA smoother.

Bourbon’s barrel-aged character brings deep oak and spice, which enhance the slightly malty backbone of the IPA.

Best Way to pair these two:

• Start with the IPA 🍺 – Let the fruity hop flavors coat your palate.
• Follow with a Sip of 1792 Bourbon 🥃 – The oak, caramel, and spice will contrast with the IPA’s bright citrus.
• Bridge the Flavors with a Snack 🍍🥜 – Try grilled pineapple, roasted cashews, or spicy honey-glazed peanuts to smooth out any harshness.

• Bear Jam Session IPA and 1792 Small Batch Bourbon:

Bear Jam has fruity notes, which creates an interesting contrast with 1792’s vanilla, caramel, and baking spice. This contrast works well if you enjoy bold, unexpected flavor interactions.

Bear Jam is a session IPA (lower ABV, lighter body) and is not as overwhelming as stronger, bitter IPA's. This makes it easier to drink alongside bourbon without the flavors becoming too intense.

If you like sweet vs. bitter combinations (think dark chocolate and citrusy coffee), this could be an exciting experiment. Best for adventurous drinkers who enjoy bold contrasts!

Best Way to pair these two:

• Start with the Beer 🍺 – Let the IPA’s fruit and mild bitterness settle first.

For Delivery within SA:

All orders are shipped out from our one central warehouse in Montague Gardens in the Western Cape. Local Orders generally take 0-2 working days, deliveries outside of Cape Town, but withing SA are usually completed within 2 to 5 working days.

You will see different shipping rates at checkout. These rates are based on the products in your cart as well as your exact delivery address.

For out of Cape Town orders If the weight exceeds 25kg's there will be an excess delivery charge. We will notify you first before any excess charge is applied. If you wish to know the cost prior to placing your order please contact us.

If there is something wrong with your product we will refund the full 100% back to you.

If you placed an order and would like to cancel you can email info@mothercityliquor.co.za and we will assist with the cancellation process.

Cancellations have a small fee of 10% due to the transaction fees we incur on each order.

If an order has already been sent out to you the shipping fee is not refundable.

If something is wrong with the product you are able to return it to us.

If you'd like to return an item all you need to do is email us at info@mothercityliquor.co.za and we will assist with the return process.

Our returns policy lasts 7 working days. If 7 working days have gone by since delivery of your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

The only types of goods are exempt from being returned are our Gift cards.

Sale/Special items:
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale/special items cannot be refunded.
